The former dog handler will be tried before the Assize Court of Savoy for the death of the 23-year-old soldier in 2017.

The trial of Nordahl Lelandais for the murder of the young soldier Arthur Noyer will take place from May 3 to 12, 2021 before the Assize Court of Savoy, said the prosecutor's office on Wednesday. The 37-year-old former dog handler will have to explain himself before three professional magistrates and six jurors drawn from lots on the electoral lists, four years after the disappearance of the 23-year-old corporal.

Put under investigation for assassination at first in December 2017, Nordahl Lelandais had recognized in March 2018 a fight between him and Arthur Noyer which had led to the latter's death. The Chambéry public prosecutor's office had, in February, requested that he be returned to the assize courts for murder, thus excluding premeditation.

Indicted for the murder of Maëlys

According to the respondent, the events took place in Saint-Baldoph, near Chambéry, on the night of April 11 to 12, 2017, after he hitchhiked the soldier from Bourges, leaving a night club in the city center. His defense did not contest the qualification of murder before the investigative chamber “so as not to delay the date of the trial. "

Nordahl Lelandais is also under investigation for the murder of the little Maëlys De Araujo, and for sexual assault on three young cousins. The 30-year-old is also being prosecuted for possession of child pornography images (videos and photos viewed on the Internet) and recording (on smartphone) of pornographic images of minors under 15 years of age. The investigation of the Maëlys affair, which had moved all of France, is in its final phase.
