A 28-year-old man died on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday after being stabbed the day before at the exit of a bar in Cherbourg (Manche), indicates the parquet floor. A suspect has been taken into police custody.
During the night of Monday to Tuesday, the victim and one of his friends argued in a bar with another man, the suspect, aged 39. While the latter waits for them at the exit with a knife, the two individuals flee.
One of them manages to reach his home, while his 28-year-old friend is found injured in the thorax, shortly after having escaped his pursuer. He died of his injuries the following night.
Suspect "says he was drunk"
"The author who is in police custody says that he was drunk and does not remember anything anymore," said Cherbourg's prosecutor Yves Le Clair, adding that he would divest himself of the case for the benefit of the pole criminal of Coutances (Manche).
The suspect should be referred to the Coutances prosecution Thursday afternoon before a probable indictment for intentional homicide.
