A new Israeli development by TestM, in collaboration with Pelephone, will allow you to test your smartphone independently, get an estimate of its mechanical condition and join a repair service. The development, which has already been sold and implemented in several cellular and insurance companies abroad, performs remote self-diagnosis using 40 different tests for the software and hardware components found in each mobile phone.

Now, the company is launching a new version that will let you know it will cost you to repair the screen - without leaving home. This is an exclusive technology that makes it possible to diagnose the integrity of the device's screen remotely with 90% accuracy using the smartphone camera, with an emphasis on detecting cracks and fractures. The service is now available for free to customers of all companies through the "Pelephon Test" app, which you can download from here for iPhones, and from here to Android.

The rest of the automated test set includes, among other things, the integrity of the battery, the speed of browsing, making and receiving calls, GPS location, charging of the device, and reception of WiFi network. At the end of the test, you will be offered to purchase smartphone insurance in an online process or by going to a sales representative of one of the insurance or cellular companies.

Pelephone is the first company to implement the solution in Israel in the Pelephone Test application in order to allow any smartphone owner to join its repair service without physically reaching one of the service centers. "Our vision is to enable every smartphone owner to save on insurance costs, based on device data and test results," says Doron Gohar, CEO of TestM, adding, "On the other hand, make sure insurance companies do not come out losers anymore."

The next step is to enable consumers to perform an online device upgrade procedure independently through the system. After the testing and diagnosis phase, new smartphones will be introduced as well as the cost differentials that will be based on the mechanical condition of the old phone. "Our solution significantly increases consumer satisfaction with the insurance purchase or trade process and streamlines it by preventing human fraud and error, saving time and costs," Gohar added.
