In the video: US President Donald Tram announces normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (Walla! News system)

Israel and the United Arab Emirates today (Thursday) announced the establishment of diplomatic relations and full normalization, mediated by US President Donald Trump. In return, Israel agreed not to promote annexation measures in the West Bank. The parties signed the agreement in a telephone conversation between Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the heir to the throne of the Arab state and de facto ruler Muhammad bin Zayed a-Nahian.

Israel and the United Arab Emirates have been in secret for 25 years. At the heart of the alliance between the two countries is dealing with the Iranian threat. The announced agreement will institutionalize the secret ties and bring them to the surface. The joint statement said delegations from Israel and the United Arab Emirates would meet in the coming days to sign cooperation agreements in the areas of security, direct flights, investment, culture, health, tourism, communications, technology, energy and the environment. Both countries will agree on the opening of embassies.
