The Apple supplier Foxconn has recruited several new employees for its central iPhone production in Zhengzhou, China via WeChat in the past few months, reports "Bloomberg", citing "people familiar with the situation".

According to the report, Apple is pre-producing at least 75 million new iPhone models for sale later this year.

That would be about as much as in previous years - and would speak for Apple's optimism in view of the corona pandemic and the global recession as well as the trade war between China and the USA.

The new iPhone models should master the 5G mobile communications standard, whereby the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for his Apple forecasts, assumes, according to "AppleInsider", that not all variants will also contain the millimeter-wave technology that is used in the corresponding 5G networks for ensures particularly high data rates.

According to "Bloomberg", the new iPhones will also have a more powerful processor and a modified design, reminiscent of the iPad Pro, and be available in different sizes.

The current iPhone 11 is available in three sizes: 5.8-inch screen diagonal (iPhone 11 Pro), 6.1-inch (iPhone 11) and 6.5-inch (iPhone 11 Pro Max).

The future models will be available with 5.4 or 6.1 inches or 6.1 and 6.7 inches for the Pro version.

The start of sales is not expected before October, the Pro versions should even come onto the market a little later.

The new iOS version 14, on the other hand, should be available for general use as early as September.

In addition, Apple will introduce two new Apple Watches, a smaller HomePod, a new iPad Air with an improved display and, for the first time, over-ear headphones that are not from Apple's Beats brand.

Apple did not want to comment on the "Bloomberg" information on request.
