Nissan has reached 500,000 Leaf produced globally.

The milestone was reached almost ten years after the launch of the first model of the successful series and the example that made the car manufacturer cross the finish line, produced in Sunderland in the United Kingdom, was delivered in Norway to the new owner on the occasion of the World EV Day. The success of the first 100% electric vehicle for the mass market is linked precisely to the Sunderland plant, where 175,000 Leafs have been produced to date, starting from 2013, of which about 5,700 in circulation in Italy.

The UK production site continues to produce Nissan Leaf to standards that ensure vehicle quality but also help promote more sustainable mobility. Over the years, the Nissan Leaf has won prestigious awards around the world, including European Car of the Year and World Car of the Year in 2011 and 'Car of the Year Japan in 2011-2012. "My husband and I chose to buy Nissan LEAF in 2018 - commented Maria Jansen, owners of the 500,000th Leaf - and it was love at first sight. We are very proud to have the 500 thousandth Leaf produced because thanks to the greater autonomy and to advanced technologies, fully satisfies our needs ". Among the technologies designed to increase safety, comfort and control on the road, there are the e-Pedal system for driving with a single pedal and the ProPILOT, the 'hands-on, eyes-on' system that allows the car to stop and restart and stay in the center of the roadway.
