New Zealand loosens measures - Still conditions in Auckland

- New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announces a relaxation of the requirements.
From midnight on Monday, the measures would only apply in Auckland, she explains.
Meetings of up to 100 people should be allowed there again from Thursday.
This means that level 2 is formally applicable in the largest city in the country and level 1 in the rest of the country.
England's chief medical officer warns of a difficult winter

England's chief medical doctor Chris Whitty warns that the problems caused by Corona could get out of control in winter.
The pandemic is developing in the wrong direction in the UK, according to a pre-published manuscript of a speech Whitty is expected to deliver later in the day.
"We're looking at the data to see how we can manage the spread of the virus before a very challenging winter period."
Merz - We shouldn't get used to a life without work

The CDU politician and party chairman candidate Friedrich Merz is concerned about possible getting used to a life without work during the Corona crisis.
"We have to be a bit careful that we don't all get used to the fact that we can live without work," says Merz "Bild live" according to the editorial version.

- In Brazil, the number of known infections increases by at least 16,389 to a total of more than 4.5 million.
The Ministry of Health also announced 363 other deaths.
This adds up to the total number almost 137,000.
In fact, the values are likely to be even higher because some states did not provide data on Sunday.
Spahn announces new corona strategy for the cold season

.: Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) wants to prepare Germany for a possible further increase in the number of corona infections: Advice centers, a new test strategy and special protection for risk groups should help.
"In autumn we need regional and local so-called fever clinics to which patients with classic respiratory symptoms such as corona and flu can turn," said Spahn of the "Rheinische Post".
Spahn emphasized that he was counting on the statutory health insurance associations to offer such central contact points on site.
"Conceptually, they already exist - ideally they should be widely accessible in autumn."
Spahn wants to take his time until mid-October to further develop the test strategy.
