That, unfortunately, is not really exceptional.

What surprised the Eurois soldiers was to note, as revealed by our colleagues from the “Awakening of Pont-Audemer”, that the driver they had just called did not have a driving license although he had been driving, by his own admission, for over 37 years.

A sort of record for the department which can nevertheless be explained by the fact that the man, aged 56, had taken his driver's license in the army but had never done the necessary to have it validated on his return. to civilian life.

A negligence that risks costing him dearly during his time at the Rouen Criminal Court (Seine-Maritime) where he is summoned on November 23 for this double offense.

Because, without mentioning his driving while intoxicated, the fact of driving without a license is considered by law as an offense.

And as such, the motorist can incur up to one year of imprisonment and a fine of € 15,000.

Nothing says that the magistrate will go that far, but the man can also have his vehicle confiscated for the acts with which he is accused.

And even being told that it is forbidden to take a driving license ...
