This message will destroy itself:
WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow you to set media files you send - such as photos, videos or GIFs - to be automatically deleted as soon as the recipient leaves the chat.
The feature is not yet available to the general public, but was found in the beta version of the app by the WABetaInfo website.
The new feature will not even leave an alert for the deleted message.
It will look simple as if you have never sent anything.
WhatsApp will also mark such media files with a clock icon next to the message to let the recipient know that the shared files will be deleted after he leaves the chat.
The new development seems to be an extension of the feature that WhatsApp has been working on for a long time, in which it plans to implement a self-destruct mechanism for messages in the app.
With the new feature users will be able to set how long a particular message will appear in the chat and then it will disappear.
The option has long existed with Telegram, the biggest competitor, and many users are waiting for the most popular messaging app in the world to be integrated as well.
Initially, according to the report, the feature will be available to Android users only.
