The Israeli system that uses artificial intelligence and will ban the entry of people without masks and with high fever (PR)

The corona virus continues to break negative records and the cabinet continues to break its head on how to deal with the outbreak that is bringing us closer to districts that until a few months ago looked like a nightmare.

The problem is not just how to immediately stop the spread of the virus but how to ensure that with the current round subsiding, we will not eventually reach a situation where another closure will be forced on us.

One of the most critical problems is the Israeli public's partial compliance curve with regulations.

Many see the obligation to wear the mask as a recommendation as well as strict personal hygiene and disinfection of the hands.

The conventional means of preventing the entry of visitors with high body temperatures are also quite outdated.

A new system, Nakipo, will try to make the necessary change, or at least make sure that everyone entering the place of residence, office or building, sounds and obeys instructions.

These are systems that make it possible to measure heat at the entrance, while verifying the wearing of a mask, disinfecting the hands (and feet, if such a need has been defined), and monitoring patients - with full automation.

Unlike other systems, the system placed at the entrance and connected to a checkpoint prevents the possibility of entering a building for a person who is not wearing a mask or has a high fever, and even requires him to disinfect his hands as a condition for opening the checkpoint.

Another advantage of the system is the ability to receive masses of people by fast passage and documenting the entrances and exits of permanent and pre-defined regular employees and visitors may even make a significant contribution in the interruption of infection chains, by quickly skipping the presence of patients in the days before symptoms. Face recognition and legal information storage in the cloud.

These days, Social Security has decided to use the system for an initial trial period at the flagship branch in Haifa, with a daily traffic of over 500 guests in order to place the system later in all of the institution's flagship branches.

The system is marketed in Israel by the Sigma Group, which has been assembling electric gates and access controls for the past 15 years.

In fact, the main tool that institutions use to actively try and fight Corona is to measure heat at the entrance.

But measuring using manual thermometers is inaccurate, requiring time, manpower, and a war of attrition against visitors, employees, and customers.

The decision of Social Security, as of other companies and organizations that have installed the system, rests, among other things, on the growing recognition of wearing a mask and maintaining personal hygiene as the most effective means of curbing the spread.

For example, Dean Bloomberg, head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Davis Children's Hospital at the University of California, William Ristenpert, professor of chemical engineering at the University of California, hosted a live discussion on effective ways to avoid COVID-19.

Both experts cited growing evidence that masks provide protection to the wearer as well as to people in the area.

The discussion revealed that those who wear a face mask are at a 65 percent reduced risk of becoming infected with the corona virus.

However, as stated, what is very clear to the residents of many countries in the world who have managed to stop the re-emergence of the disease, is not perceived by the Israeli public as taboo.

Conclusive evidence of this is also obtained through sample data of 5,100 people who passed through the systems installed by the company. According to the test results, the entry of 248 people was prevented because they did not wear a mask. This is no less than 5%.

The company states that if the system succeeds in reducing by 30% the amount of people entering public places with heat or without a mask, it will be able to prevent many cases of infection and isolation wherever it is crowded, the system starts at about 20,000 shekels, Shopping centers, factories, and in fact any building or public place whose gates have a lively movement of people, including sports stadiums, malls, banquet halls, office buildings and more.

The system actually saves the need to employ Corona security guards, the cost of which can reach NIS 25,000-20,000 a month, and also saves them the need for arguments to the point of quarrels with customers or employees who enter the gates of the place.

How does Nakipo's system work?

The Israeli development includes a tablet-like device with a thermal camera.

Passers-by stop in front of the screen, and when the system detects that their body temperature is normal and they wear a mask.

Then take one step forward and put both hands in sanitary holes that forcefully spray the antiseptic liquid on the hands, and after this operation is completed successfully - an opening instruction is given to the checkpoint. .

The information can be stored on a cloud platform, or not stored at all - depending on the customer's needs.

In addition the system includes advanced features such as foot disinfection {for food factories or or a counter for counting the amount entering the building).
