The Showtime series "Dexter" returns to television - seven years after its demise.

It will return to the screen as a new 10-episode mini-series in the fall of 2021, and Michael C. Hall will return to the lead role of a police investigator leading a double life as a serial killer who kills murderers who have escaped punishment.

The crime drama, based on the novel "Dexter Dreams of Dark Dreams" by Jeff Lindsay, aired for eight seasons, between 2006 and 2013.

She was factored to the screen by screenwriter James Manos Jr., and its lead creators are the actual producers Daniel Saron and Clyde Phillips, who are expected to lead the sequel as well.

Showtime co-president Carrie Levin told foreign media that the network agreed to return the series only if a proper creative way was found, and that they were able to find it.

The plot is expected to continue from the same place where the eighth season ended.

In its final episode the police concluded that Dexter was dead, however in the last few moments it was discovered that he had survived and lived under a new name as a lumberjack in Oregon.

Many felt disappointed from the last episode, including C. Hall himself.
