Apple presented its new flagship on Tuesday: the iPhone 12 - in four different versions.
At the launch, the manufacturer advertised many innovations and many a buzzword, from 5G to MagSafe, from ceramic crystals to the A14 bionic processor.
Which of these is really new, what is behind the terms and which feature is worthwhile for whom?
Our overview reveals that:
1. 5G: Faster, but not always and everywhere
In Apple's iPhone presentation, the integration of 5G cellular into the new phones was celebrated as the "beginning of a new era".
Hans Vestberg, head of the US mobile network provider Verizon, celebrated Apple's late entry into this technology with the statement that download rates of up to 4 gigabits per second (Gbit / s) and uploads of up to 200 megabits per second (Mbit / s) possible - under ideal conditions.
However, this has only rarely been the case so far; according to Vestberg, the 5G ultra-wideband network (5G UWB) required for this is only available in a handful of US cities in the USA.
By the end of the year it should be 60.
