The front bumper, grille and lighting units are new

About three years after it was introduced, it's time to refresh Jaguar's compact crossover.

During these years some of his main competitors in the group were renewed or introduced.

Tools like the BMW X1 and X2, the Volvo XC40 and also representatives for both the DS and Volvo - all with petrol and plug-in engines.

And that's what he does with his facelift.

Apart from a requested design refresh that includes LED lighting units with control over the intensity and structure of the light beam to prevent glare, a new design for bumpers and a deep grille, behind the lighting units with a look similar to those of the electric I-PACE.

From the profile the main changes are the "vents" in the front wing and headlights

The cabin gets much more necessary and thorough care.

The dashboard turns into a 12.3-inch screen The main touchscreen has grown from 10 to 11.4-inches and includes Jaguar's new multimedia and information system, the Shuss - a coating that should prevent fingerprints from soiling it.

The concave multimedia screens appeal to the driver as part of the concept of passenger compartment design.

The rotary gear dial is replaced with a vertical electric control and next to it a wireless charging pad.

Another gap that closes the E-PACE is the quality of materials, which this time Jaguar promises to present a finish, softer and more pleasant to the touch materials.

Digital dashboard and touch screen that prevents fingerprints

The E-PACE remains unchanged in external dimensions relative to the outgoing version, but does add some new technologies for it.

Downloading software updates via WI FI communication is one of them, as is the air filtration system and odors in the cabin, a rear view that is actually a screen fed by a camera in the back of the roof.

Electric headlights inspired by the i-PACE

The more significant innovation in E-PACE is a refresh of its engine team.

The offer starts with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with 160 hp. This version, which will be the entry level of the model, will have front-wheel drive.

Based on the same engine, a plug-in hybrid version will also be offered. Here the gasoline engine joins an electric motor with a combined 309 hp .

Here, unlike the petrol version, the propulsion is dual and its quantity uses a planetary 8-speed gearbox.

15 kilowatt-hour batteries under the passenger compartment provide a declared electric range of 55 km, acceleration to 100 km / h is 6.5 seconds.

The supply continues to be electrified

Both the basic 1.5-liter engine and the other engines also use electric reinforcement, although they are not propulsion systems, but a 48V battery that stores energy during deceleration and braking and provides support in the electrical systems for longer engine shutdowns and easy acceleration assistance.

This is the familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine.

It will come in three power levels, 200, 249 and 300 hp - all with fixed dual propulsion and a gearbox with 9 gears.

According to Jaguar, an importer of Jaguar to Israel, the renewed E-PACE is expected to arrive here in March 2021. Their expectation is that the entry-level version and the plug-in hybrid version will receive a respectable sales share.

The first thanks to an attractive price and the second thanks to the technology, although the competition that awaits them is not easy in both arenas, with base versions of its competitors starting at NIS 250-260 thousand and on the other hand the plug-in versions starting at NIS 300,000.
