The Waze navigation app launches today (Thursday) a new initiative to promote visits to small businesses in Israel affected by the Corona crisis, and will add extensive information about the business to the platform in order to support them, encourage shopping and help customers reach them easily.

The service is launched ahead of the Small Business Day that takes place on Saturday around the world, and will run until January 7, 2021, as part of which the company offers business owners the opportunity to transmit and update information including address, contact information and opening and closing hours using a simple form.

In addition, details of the business house will be added to the navigation map by the community of volunteer map editors.

The company notes that this campaign is part of the response to the outbreak of the Corona virus and Wise's strategic effort to find ways to leverage its products and map to better serve communities, and enable employees, users and partners to help organizations close to their hearts.

"We know small businesses have really been hit hard this year as a result of the epidemic," said Danny Simmons, director of public-sector partnerships at Wise.

"Earlier this year we launched location tags to help local businesses show if they offer a pick-up service without getting out of the car and without contact, allowing drivers to safely pick up groceries or shipping. We want to make it even easier for drivers to reach these businesses and support the economy through local shopping."

Small business owners who want their information updated in Wise - or to update businesses that have not yet been mapped - can
