The 15th edition of the National Geographic Festival of Sciences closes with more than 2 million participants, 250,000 unique users and a total of 500,000 page views.
The 2020 edition, which ended on Sunday 29 November, took place entirely online, due to health restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A result, explain the organizers of the festival, produced by the Musica per Roma Foundation with the cultural partnership of Codice Edizioni, which testifies to the deep interest in science, transversal between generations.
“We honored the theme of this edition, Optimism and Science, in the awareness of looking at the present with the eyes of the future”, says Vittorio Bo, director of the festival.
“The online programming, which began last June, has made it possible to create a very rich scientific-informative library, which will be continuously enriched and updated even after the days of the event”, explains Bo.
According to the organizers, the more than 130 appointments had about 300,000 views between Facebook and YouTube live, for a total of 8,500 hours of video content playback.
“This edition was both an adventure and a challenge”, commented Daniele Pitteri, CEO of the Musica per Roma Foundation.
“Already in spring, faced with the emergency, we found ourselves in the need to review the format of the festival, which we immediately understood should develop, starting from 2020 and for the future, mixing digital and face-to-face use methods.
