The second pandemic of the century is one year old: on December 1 in the Chinese city of Wuhan a man showed the symptoms of what was then a mysterious and nameless pneumonia.
It was the origin of the Covid-19 pandemic which has so far caused more than 63 million cases and almost one and a half million victims worldwide.
In Italy, the cases totaled over 1.6 million and over 55,000 victims.
The date of December 1, referring to the onset of symptoms, was identified as January 24, 2020 in a retrospective study published by The Lancet.
