The United States is expected to start Covid-19 vaccinations before the end of December, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The two most advanced vaccines, developed by Pfizer and Moderna laboratories, have filed for emergency clearance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the federal agency responsible for food and drug safety.

The procedures have been considerably shortened, and authorizations should be granted as of December 10 for Pfizer, which filed its application on November 20, and on December 17 for Moderna, which submitted its case on Monday.
Immunizations could start soon after.
But distributing and administering these vaccines to 330 million Americans presents a huge logistical, health and administrative challenge.
