All Movies - Directly to Streaming: An Unprecedented Earthquake in Hollywood
In an unprecedented move that is rocking Hollywood, Warner Studios has announced that it will go live on streaming of all of their 2021 films, including "Dune" and "The Matrix 4."
The official excuse is the Corona of course, but is this a war strategy against Netflix, and how will it affect the audience in Israel?

Earthquake in the world of cinema: Warner Studios has announced that all of their films in 2021 will be streamed simultaneously in streaming and theaters.
It should be emphasized that at this stage the decision is relevant only to the United States and not to other countries, and of course not to Israel.
Last week, Warner provided the first hints of the move with the announcement that "Wonder Woman 1984" will air on December 25 in theaters that are still open, as well as on HBO MAX, the corporation's streaming service to which they belong.
This announcement was dramatic in itself, and at the time the thought was that it was a one-time move, but now it turns out to be a strategy.
If so, not only will "Wonder Woman 1984" be immediately available in home format upon release, but also a host of other films, including the sequels to "The Matrix," "Spice Jam" and "Suicide Squad," remakes of "Dune" And of "Tom and Jerry" and what not.

And what about Israel?

The movies will be available for thirty days on HBO MAX (again, US only), along with the cinematic distribution, and then disappear from service, before returning to the various VOD platforms according to the usual distribution windows.
reverse.
Warner Studios says it is a one-year move only, and that in 2022 they will return to the standard distribution strategy.
"No one wants the films to return to the bigger screen than us," the corporation's executives and executives declared.
"However, the reality is that most theaters in the United States will operate sparingly throughout 2021, and we want to allow audiences who do not have access or willingness to return to theaters a chance to relish our amazing films nonetheless. For him, it's a win-win situation."
How much do Warner really mean by what they say?
Two questions arise here - will, once the move is implemented, ever be able to step back and close the redistribution windows as they were before the Corona?
And is the epidemic just an excuse, allowing Warner to do what they would like anyway, and direct their resources toward streaming to compete with Netflix?
And the third question - when will any of this be relevant to us as well?
This is one of the most dynamic periods in the history of Hollywood, and there is no doubt that the coming months will bring with them many more new and interesting answers to these questions.
