Starting tomorrow, the morning of the new civil year, WhatsApp will stop supporting smartphones.

The purpose of the move, according to the company, is to invest the most efforts to improve the application in the latest versions of operating systems.

Which devices will have to part with WhatsApp?

These are iPhone models with older versions than iOS 9 - that is, an iPhone 4 launched in 2009 and its predecessors.

Also, the app will not support Android devices with an older version than 4.0.3 - such as the Samsung Galaxy S2, Motorola Droid Razr and Lg Optimus Black launched in 2011.

Remember, this means that users who have unsupported devices will not be able to download the app, create a new account or verify an existing account from another device.

In any case, you should already upgrade your device, or at least back up your history in the Google cloud so that you do not lose all the information and messages.

Google is also eliminating a popular application

Earlier this year, Google announced that as of January 1, 2021, the Google Cloud Print service will be closed, allowing users of the Chrome browser and the Android operating system to print over the web using the Gmail account.

Google launched Cloud Print in 2010 as a way to make it easier for people with the ChromeOS operating system to print their documents, at a time when printers did not support its operating system.

Since then, of course, other simpler and faster alternatives have arrived.
