Many artists and creators reacted in shock to the violent riots of outgoing President Donald Trump's supporters last night.
Four people were killed in unprecedented clashes in Washington, and police arrested over fifty suspects.
Overnight, forces of the National Guard, FBI agents and the Secret Service were deployed in Washington.
The onslaught of enthusiastic crowds on Congress has been the most severe attack on the symbol of American democracy for more than 200 years.
"It's time for state leaders to implement the 25th Amendment (to the US Constitution). Isn't that obvious?" Musician Stevie Wonder wrote on Twitter.
"This day has saddened me, and I do not believe what is happening in my country, a country that has inspired my songs of hope and love. I am heartbroken and amazed that this narcissistic and dangerous president is endangering life and encouraging a violent revolt against our government. This man is no longer able to serve as president. "Can he accept his defeat? Can we afford another two weeks? I say no!"
Director Michael Moore wrote: "A mob of traitors stormed the Capitol building - broke through the police and are now inside near the Senate doors. The police are in shock. One was hit and taken away. Where is the National Guard? Where are the rubber bullets? Why didn't that mob stop?".
