Donald Trump on Twitter: Ban for at least twelve hours

Twitter has blocked the account of US President Donald Trump for at least twelve hours.
This was announced by the platform after removing three tweets from the president for violating Twitter guidelines.
If the tweets are not deleted from Trump's account, the ban would be extended, it said.
"Future violations of the Twitter rules, including our guidelines on the integrity of civic processes or violent threats, lead to a permanent ban on the account," said Twitter.
Trump has 88.7 million so-called followers on the account, and Twitter is the president's favorite medium.
Facebook later announced that it would block Trump's account on its platform.
"We have found two policy violations on President Trump's page that lead to a 24-hour function block," wrote Facebook on Twitter.
"That means that he can no longer post on the platform during this time."
Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook delete Trump video
Trump had published a video on Twitter, among other things, in which he urged his supporters who had invaded the US Capitol to remain peaceful.
In the video, he reiterated his unsubstantiated allegations of presidential election fraud, which he lost.
Trump's video was initially given a warning by Twitter because of unsubstantiated fraud allegations, which was new in this sharpness - the tweet could neither be shared nor replied to.
A little later, the video was deleted; Facebook and YouTube had previously done the same on their platforms.
After the video, Twitter immediately deleted another post from Trump, in which he wrote: "These are things and events that happen when a landslide victory is stolen so suddenly and cruelly."
Trump's supporters had previously stormed the House of Parliament in Washington while deliberations to confirm the election victory of his successor Joe Biden were ongoing.
After storming the US parliament, Twitter had already announced tougher action against posts that could spark further violence.
Such tweets could no longer be distributed, replied to or given a "like", said Twitter.
