The LG OLED screen series has not always been within reach, and only in the last two years have we seen more affordable prices.

The GX series that "landed" in my living room is the premium series, with the ZX above it.

The only difference?

8K support.

While it's hard to find 8K content, we're left with the GX, the senior series that supports 4K.

This is a technology that until three or four years ago, in order to enjoy an OLED screen, you had to part with tens of thousands of shekels.

In recent years, technology has developed and production costs have dropped, and those who benefit from this are undoubtedly the consumers who can afford them, without paying many tens of thousands of shekels.

I tested the GX65 and tried to take my eyes off the screen: it was indeed a challenging task.

At LG it is treated as an art item that should be hung on the wall only

Give up status and tell consumers: Your only option is to hang the TV on the wall, that's a strong statement.

Just like ordering a dish at a famous chef restaurant and the chef refuses to make changes to the dish.

In a style similar to Samsung's frame screen or even LG's 'Wallpaper' series of screens, the GX TV is designed to hang on the wall, just like a picture, and in the company's clarify - another option is out of the question, except to buy a third party stand or purchase the TV from the series "C".

Of course not everyone has the privilege of placing the TV on a wall, but since the current TV was hanging anyway, for me there was no challenge.

What's more - LG provides a special stand that attaches the TV to the wall, in such a way that there are no spaces, which gives the appearance that the TV and the wall are integrated with each other.

The GX is very thin.

How much is it very much?

Only 2 cm. As mentioned, thanks to the special status that "completely attaches" to the wall, you get a picture of a picture on the wall. Also in this TV, the solid and simple design continues: For behind-the-screen cables, however, the TV supports a wide range of streaming apps, so if you are not using cables, you can get by with the excellent interface.

Interface: Simple, fast and supports a wide range of applications

Somewhere in 2013, LG acquired the webOS operating system from HP.

At the time it was an operating system that failed to boot and was problematic for many reasons.

It was an operating system that was generally intended for smartphones and tablets.

The Korean giant realized the potential of the operating system, and it was a great choice, as LG made an end-to-end change.

Needless to say - the bet was successful for her and huge.

The operating system supports a wide and varied number of applications: Partner TV, Cellcom TV, Hot and Next TV, Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.

Indeed, this is a long and varied list that guarantees support for all popular streaming apps except for one corporation app.

In addition, the TV supports the AirPlay2 link, which allows content to be streamed from Apple devices, directly to the TV.

This is a fast, colorful interface and most importantly: easy to navigate and orient.

If all the people in the house were able to operate it in a simple way, it seems that LG did a good job.

The gesture-based control interface, which allows you to move a cursor by moving the remote.

This is a convenient and effective solution, for me it was much friendlier than control using the keys on the remote, and it is a solution that simply all technology manufacturers must adopt, certainly in a world where

The important question: how is the image quality?

This is an OLED panel, and if the name does not mean much to you, then I will explain: this is the panel with the highest color accuracy, and the most beautiful image you can get in your living room.

However, it also has a drawback that is reflected in the low brightness that affects daytime viewing.

This means that if the TV is in front of a window, there may be reflections on the TV during the day.

LG used special coatings and managed to do a good job, but it still does not compensate for the brightness which is a bit low.

However, I can say with confidence: OLED screens are the best on the market today.

As mentioned, this is an OLED panel, and no matter how many try to claim that other panels surpass this panel, as of this writing, I can say with confidence: OLED screens are the best on the market today.

True, they are not free from the burning shortcomings that were known in previous models, but LG claims that they have managed to solve this.

Did it really happen?

only time will tell.

At the heart of the TV you can find an Alpha 9 processor, 3rd generation with an artificial intelligence processor, an OLED motion Pro processor, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a 4K resolution.

Support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 standards can also be found.

These are advanced color standards, which allow for wide dynamic color ranges, and alongside the image, accompanying information is also transmitted on how to paint it, which leads to the enrichment of colors in the image.

In practice, this allows the TV to reach a higher level of brightness in bright scenes.

Supporting this technology is Netflix, among others.

But no processors and no standards, in the end what matters is the actual image quality.

I will divide the viewing experience into two: the breathtaking experience, and the experience that made me take a deep breath and ask how the year is 2021 and we still see news at such a low resolution.

The OLED panel allows the illumination of each pixel individually.

In LED TVs for example, the pixels hang in the backlight - lamps that are behind the panel, creating a light that drips.

In OLED, the colors are more "correct", and not mixed with leaked lighting, allowing LG to produce true black and endless contrast.

When there is a segment of darkness in the image: the TV does not emit light, the pixels are off.

This allows for added depth, and sharpness that is hard to achieve on other screens.

When watching Netflix or even YouTube, the viewing experience is breathtaking.

The picture is sharp, the colors are so accurate and if it's hard for you to stop bingeing today, then with this TV it will be twice as hard.

And what about watching the news?

LG's artificial intelligence processor does a good job of improving image quality, but it's not there yet.

As much as the most advanced processors try to upgrade SD broadcast quality, they will not succeed.

And watching the news just does injustice to this screen.

So in fact, when watching "regular" channels we are left with poor viewing quality and even the best TV will not be able to fix this.

And I still stand by it: the best TV you can buy without paying tens of thousands of shekels

In my opinion, this is the best TV you can buy without paying tens of thousands of shekels.

It seems that LG has finally made the technology accessible to a wider audience.

This is not yet the low price category of a few thousand shekels, but it certainly makes the prestigious technology accessible year after year.

It brings qualities that were reserved for the super-luxury TVs, the ones that cost tens of thousands of shekels and up.

The model I tested came in a 65-inch size and sold for around NIS 10,000, and the TV can also be found in a 75-inch size. Do it.
