When right-wing nationalist and Trump supporter Tim Gionet intruded into the US Capitol on January 6, he also took his social network with him.
He broadcasts his deeds live on the streaming platform DLive, which is popular with gamers - and he can even be paid for by his viewers using in-app donations.
Gionet, who has made a career as a right-wing agitator under the alias »Baked Alaska«, streams for around 20 minutes and cheers on its viewers in the manner of audience-hungry influencers: »We now have over 10,000 people live, let's go!« And: » I thank everyone who shared this video. "
While Gionet and the mob are marauding through the hallways of the parliament building, the audience is typing cheering messages into his chat channel.
"Throw in the window", "hang up all MPs" - like a game stream, for which DLive is mainly used.
His followers reward him during the broadcast with »Lemons«, the platform's currency, which is popular with right-wing extremists because it exercises almost no control over its users.
