Quite a few civilians have encountered a fake e-mail in recent days, sent to them by crooks impersonating the Israel Post.

In this announcement, it was offered to those who refrain from receiving a package for only NIS 4.90.

The purpose of imposters is to steal credit information from innocent consumers and make use of their money.

The Israel Post stated: "The issue is known and complaints have been filed with the police. A warning about this has appeared on the post office's."

The police responded: "As long as a complaint is received that raises the suspicion of committing a criminal offense, it will be dealt with accordingly."

Especially on days when Israel is in quarantine, there is an increase in the number of attempts at phishing scams, as well as many attempts at online impersonation in order to deplete funds through many and varied ways.

It is advisable to take extra care, and pay attention to some details that make it possible to identify that the messages sent to us are fake.

First and foremost, you should always check the email address from which the message was sent and compare it with the sending email of the sending body, in this case of Israel Post.

In addition, it is important to note that these messages will often be worded in a sloppy and informal way.

It can be noticed that the email was worded using translation software and not written by an official.

Another thing to note: the amount that the recipient will be asked to pay will usually be low, because the purpose of the crooks is to steal his credit information.
