Trailer for the series "Rebel", Shira Haas (Netflix)
With a delay of almost two months due to the Corona plague, the foreign press booth in Hollywood today (Wednesday) unveiled the nominations for its annual awards ceremony, the 78th Golden Globe in number - thus launching the awards season in Hollywood.
Israeli Shira Haas is also nominated for her role in "The Rebel" for the Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Actress in a Mini-Series, after already being nominated for the Emmy Award last September.
She will compete against Cate Blanchett for "Mrs. America," Daisy Edgar Jones for "Normal People," Nicole Kidman for "You Should Have Known" and Ania Tyler Joy for "Queen Gambit."
Aside from "Lady America" all of these series are also nominated for Best Mini-Series Award, in addition to Stephen McQueen's "Small Ax".
The press booth is made up of ninety journalists from all over the world, and the award they hand out is not important in itself, but it marks some of the films that are going to stand out at the upcoming Oscar ceremony.
Actresses Sarah Jessica Parker ("Sex and the City") and Traji P. Hanson ("Empire") announced the nominations.
The ceremony itself will take place on Sunday, February 28, and will be moderated for the fourth time by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
The Cecil B. De Mille Cinematic Lifetime Achievement Award will go to actress Jane Fonda, while the Carol Burnett Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented this year to legendary producer Norman Lear, including creator of "Everything Stays in the Family" and "The Jefferson Family." .
As always, the ceremony will also be broadcast live on Yes in Israel.
All candidates for the 78th Golden Globe Awards will be updated soon
