60 more satellites of Starlink launched, the constellation designed by Elon Musk's SpaceX company to bring the internet to the most remote areas of the Earth.
The launch took place with a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral (Florida).
This is the first of two consecutive launches, within a few hours of each other.
In fact, another 60 satellites of the same constellation will be launched on 5 February.
About nine minutes after bringing the satellites into orbit, the reusable first stage of the Falcon 9 landed correctly on a floating platform in the Atlantic.
It is 107 / o flight for a Falcon 9 rocket. The Starlink satellites are designed for low earth orbit, at approximately 550 kilometers of altitude.
More than 1,000 have been launched so far and SpaceX expects to bring them to 1,500 in this first phase of the program, while it has already received the authorization for the launch of at least 12,000 satellites. Currently, Starlink's internet service is being tested in some rural areas of the northern United States and southern Canada and some parts of the United Kingdom.
