A second man was arrested Thursday in the investigation into the beheading in Toulon (Var) of a man whose head had been thrown out of a window, we learned from a police source.
The main suspect, a naval officer, has been hospitalized in psychiatry since his arrest.
The identity of the second man arrested was not specified by this same police source but, according to France Bleu Var, which reveals the information, it would be a homeless person who was in the apartment of the main suspect in time of the crime.
On Monday, passers-by raised the alert after discovering a severed head in the city center from a cardboard box thrown out of an apartment window.
Shortly after the arrival of the police, and in particular a team from the BAC (anti-crime brigade), a man appeared at the window of the apartment, his hands full of blood.
RAID police were then called to the scene to trigger an intervention.
The suspect had barricaded himself at his home, and the police had to force open his door to stop him.
The terrorist trail was immediately ruled out by investigators.
The victim is said to be one of two homeless who had been lodged overnight in the suspect's apartment.
An intervention of the municipal police had taken place in the night because of a fight.
