It was 7 p.m. Monday evening, a young woman was jogging, alone, on the banks of the left bank of the Rhône, near the Saint-Joseph-Saint-Luc hospital, in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon, when she was deliberately pushed into the swollen river waters by a man in a hooded sweatshirt who ran into her.
Falling into the icy and swirling waters of the Rhône, the young woman, who managed to hang on to the bank, thus avoiding being carried by the current, was able to be rescued miraculously by two passers-by, while her attacker took the leak.
After hoisting her out of the water, making sure she was in good health, the two men who rescued her resumed their journey.
In search of the testimony of those who rescued her
The criminal brigade of the Rhône departmental security department launched a call for witnesses on Wednesday evening, in an attempt to find the aggressor, looking for "any person likely to bring elements to the investigation in order to determine the circumstances of this attack".
She thus searches both the aggressor, any witness of the scene, and first of all the two men who rescued the young jogger in the hope that they can provide details of the scene.
The victim was running in the direction of the river at the time of the assault, from North to South.
This 5 km urban promenade along the river between the Tête d'Or and Gerland parks is usually frequented by very many walkers, walkers, joggers, skateboarders and cyclists.
But the curfew, and the night which falls early in the winter period, currently make the places relatively deserted after 6 p.m.
