A sporty suv?

Someone had tried it in the premium segment of the market, but only received timid acclaim.

But never before had it happened that in the crowded segment of B-SUVs 'for everyone', the development project was entrusted to technicians from the sports and racing world.

It happened with the Ford Puma that after its many variations, from petrol to diesel through the full hybrid (for months at the top of the preferences of the Italians), arrives in the ST version.

Never before has the Ford Performance team had a car with these characteristics on their hands.

New Ford Puma ST

Yet the new Ford Puma ST manages to show off all its dynamism without giving up that urban character typical of compact SUVs, where versatility and practicality of use really make the difference.

Puma ST is like that;

a car that does not go unnoticed and that expresses all its sport through a purely sensorial full immersion: from the sight with an extreme color (the Mean Green, exclusive for this version) passing to the hearing, with the unmistakable rumble of the 1.5 EcoBoost ( thanks to Active Exhaust Valve Technology amplifies the sporty sound of the three-cylinder) capable of developing a ground power of 200 hp and accelerating from 0 to 100 in just 6.7 seconds, driving pleasure translates into an experience adrenaline.

The test version for ANSA Motori has been tested both on urban routes - where rush hour traffic has put a strain on our nerves rather than the fuel tank - and on the fastest route on the motorway, maintaining an average consumption of about 12 km / l.

Passing from Normal to Eco mode, then, you give up some muscles to the advantage of the 'pockets': you go from an average of about 11.6 km / l to almost 14 km / l of average in the mixed cycle.

The cylinder deactivation technology also can automatically stop one of the cylinders when full engine capacity is not needed, for further savings.

Within the Performance Pack, the engine integrates the Launch Control that allows you to make burning starts from stationary, without the risk of spinning the wheels.

Puma ST also features new engine mounts that limit roll and minimize unwanted movement, while offering a highly comfortable ride.

However, if you come across a road with a rough surface, the extreme rigidity ends up not being so appreciated.

In short, from the sea to the mountains, from the city to the highway, Puma ST adapts well to any environment, without ever taking off the role of the worst 'sister' of the range.

The bold styling, the sloping roof silhouette and pronounced wheel arches all underline the extreme look of the SUV.

The more pronounced Ford Performance-style splitter is integrated into the front bumper to increase the front downforce by nearly 80% for greater stability and traction.

The large rear roof spoiler also supports optimized aerodynamics.

Like the exterior, the interior is also charismatic: the heated and padded ReCaro sports seats hold the driver and front passenger well in position.

In addition, there are Ford Performance skid plates, flat bottom leather steering wheel and ST gear knob.

Puma ST also offers uncompromising best-in-class cargo space and rear luggage space of 456 liters backed by the innovative Ford MegaBox (80 liters under the trunk floor).

Technological features include, among other things, Ford's Sync 3 communication and entertainment system, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

FordPass Connect on-board modem technology turns the Puma ST into a Wi-Fi hotspot with connectivity available for up to 10 devices.

With its 33,000 euros of public price list, the ST completes the Puma family by representing the top-of-the-range version of the SUV.
