The brand that has so far been marketed in the United States, Australia, Canada, the Gulf states and of course the South Korean home market is preparing its next step - a European onslaught.

The old continent they have tried to penetrate in the past and with very limited success Lexus and Infiniti.



But on the way there, he stops us to start marketing the new luxury brand that joins a crowded market that in recent years has seen tens of percent growth in demand, a joining that is also evident in the location of the new showroom - in the center of Arie Shenkar Street in Herzliya Pituach - the stronghold of luxury brands in the car market.

In Israel, the brand will be headed by Dana Ravid-Menachem, who was previously the marketing director of the Mercedes brand, also under the wings of the importer Colmobil.

At the presentation of the brand, she also talked about the concept of service that the brand will bring with it - GENESIS PERSONAL ASSISTANT, a personal service manager who is "attached" to each customer and available 24/7.



Including picking up the vehicle for treatment, delivering a replacement vehicle, and returning the vehicle to the customer wherever the customer chooses.

The treatments by the way - free of charge in the first 3 years of ownership up to six treatments.

According to the importer, the intention is to set a new standard of customer service.

And given these two and the other services offered, it's pretty obvious that this will be reflected in the price, right?

As mentioned, in the first phase, two Genesis models will be marketed in Israel.

The first car is the G80, which will compete with the saloon car segment.

This is the third incarnation of the model by this name and gets the brand’s monstrous grille along with the narrow lighting units that are also expected to characterize the following cars.



With five meters from end to end and a wheelbase of 301 cm it is longer than the finalists and the Swedish competing in the salon group on these islands in all directions.

On the paddle: petrol, four-cylinder with a volume of 2.5 liters, turbocharged.

The power is 304 hp and 43 kg at 1,650 rpm. This is by the way the only power unit that this brand shares with another model in Hyundai (a version of the Sonata that is not marketed in Israel). When the gearbox is a planetary automatic with 8 ratios Transmission and rear-wheel drive.

The G80 will be marketed in two levels of "elegant" finish that is very well equipped, and "luxury" that is very well equipped.

The list starts with leather upholstery, electric seats with massage, climate control with three areas, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard with a top view, and a 14.5-inch multimedia screen, side curtains, wireless charging, panoramic roof and more.

The "Luxury" finish level adds wood finishes, front seat ventilation, adaptive suspensions with a road review system, an upgraded audio system, steering wheel heating, soft door closure and more.



The list of safety systems also sets a new standard and can be summarized in one word "everything" in two words "everything and more", with 10 airbags, a system for preventing children from forgetting in the car, active hood, front and rear traffic detection, LED lighting and more.



Prices:

NIS 385,000 for elegant and NIS 439,000 for luxury.

Gaps of NIS 100,000 and more than the entry-level versions of the German ones in their entry-level versions and parallel to the Volvo S90 in the weaker and less equipped T5 version.

The second model to be marketed in the first phase is the GV80, a 495 cm long crossover and a 296 cm wheelbase slightly smaller than the Q7 and overlapping in size with the Volvo GLE and Volvo's XC90.

Like them, it also comes in a 7-seat configuration.



The design, powerful and square, and especially with a grille that you will not miss in any way, is the hallmark of Genesis, but apparently this is how the designer comes from Bentley.

Here the propulsion unit is a 3.0-liter turbo diesel.

The power is 278 hp and the torque is 60 kg at 1,500 rpm. The planetary automatic transmission with 8 transmission and propulsion ratios is double.

Like the G80, the GV80 is marketed in two trim levels - "elegant" and "luxurious".

Here, too, the equipment lists are very long and the list of safety systems is also complete and exceeds those of pricing.

12.3-inch digital dashboard, multimedia system with 14.5-inch screen, leather seats, leather-like cladding for the dashboard and doors, massage for the front seats, adaptive dampers with a road scanning system and adjustment of suspension operation and more.

In "Lakshari", two-tone leather joins the steering wheel, Napa for the seats, electric control of the third row of seats from the driver's environment, a limited-slip rear differential, an intercom for talking between passengers - of course with the option of silencing the second and third rows.



Prices:

NIS 500,000 for the elegant finish level and NIS 569,000 for the luxury.

Here too, gaps of tens of thousands of shekels compared to the Volvo XC90 and more than one hundred thousand shekels compared to the relevant versions of the competitors from Germany.

During the current year, the Genesis model line will be expanded and the G80 and GV80 will be joined by the G70, the compact sedan and the GV70, the little brother of the GV80.

The G90, which is the manufacturer's flagship, will also arrive, competing with the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8, and Lexus LS in the luxury category.



A fully electric model of the brand will also be unveiled this year and is expected to arrive.

The promise: a range of over 500 km, charging 80 percent battery in 20 minutes and more. It is also expected to arrive in Israel.
