More than 30,000 contaminations were thus recorded on February 24, a first since November.
Local confinements on weekends have already been decreed for the agglomerations of Nice and Dunkirk.

The situation is now worrying in 20 departments, including all of Île-de-France, part of Hauts-de-France, the south-east and north-east of the country.
The incidence rate exceeds 250 weekly cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
In these territories placed under enhanced vigilance, measures similar to those of Nice and Dunkirk could be taken by the weekend of March 6.
In most of them, the significant presence of the suspected British or South African variants seems to encourage this recovery with more than 50% of cases.
