A comedy of murder
Hitman's gameplay description represents the biggest nightmare of all those who fear violence in games.
This is a big murder simulator.
You play a professional assassin who travels the world and effectively defeats his targets.
Just what, this description misses the point: Hitman is not a violent and dark game, but a pretty funny game.
In fact, it might be called a "murder comedy": Although the murders are quite brutal, the way the characters in the world react to the situation makes it clear that "everything is for fun", and the game is created with a healthy self-awareness.
He may be violent, but in a rather slapstick way.
Each stage is basically an "open-world mini-world", with dozens of different spaces and hundreds of characters moving around in them, each with its own "daily routine" characters.
From the moment Agent 47 enters the stage he needs to find intelligence that will help him locate his targets, and then find one of the many ways to eliminate them, which will usually include many costumes and taking advantage of unique opportunities.

In the first stage of the game, which takes place on the upper floors of the Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai, one of the tower owners, surrounded by tough personal guards, has to be eliminated.
Just what, it turns out that on the day of the assassination a new bodyguard starts working, and if you're nimble enough you can find him in one of the wardrobes and steal his work permit.
You can then eliminate a random guard and steal his ammunition, then hurry up and meet your target.

What's new?
The game's developers took advantage of the fact that this is an episode that seals their trilogy, and here and there also introduced significant innovations to the stage structure, such as breaking the "Find the goal, find the right costume, eliminate it in a fun way and escape before you get caught."
I don’t want to ruin for someone who hasn’t played yet, but these various steps put a lot of welcome freshness into Hitman’s formula, at least the first time you come across them, and they work great.
One of these steps could easily have been turned into a full-length game on its own.
On the other hand, innovation hurts a bit the diversity that the above stages show when trying to play them again. Of all the new stages, the above two stages are the ones I enjoyed the most in the first round and the most bored of them in the second.
These are two stages out of six - and in the end, even though they suck a bit in replay, the variety they give to the story and rhythm is worth it.

It started great, continued great, and ends - in a not very surprising but very happy, great way.

Games based on cinematic or literary brands usually do not turn out to be particularly successful, but based on this Hitman trilogy, there is definitely something to look forward to.
