Telephone system (symbol picture): Bottleneck for the home office

With several federal authorities, the desire for more home office fails due to overloaded telephone systems.
In a circular from the Federal Ministry of the Interior from the beginning of February, it is said that the telephone forwarding from the offices to home leads "to a temporary overload of the federal networks".
That is why the responsible federal agency for digital radio recommends »if possible, do not activate call diversions on the office telephones«.
Employees with work cell phones should instead pass on their cell phone number - or voluntarily their home number so that they can be reached at home.
The Federal Police Headquarters in Potsdam is also struggling with a weak telephone system.
In December, the communications technology department praised itself for having "significantly expanded" the number of rooms for telephone switching during the corona crisis.
However, because of the 200 or so call diversions from the offices, there are »repeated line bottlenecks«, which means that »the rooms are increasingly not used or only to a limited extent«.
