According to a gloomy forecast from a study by the US space agency NASA, in collaboration with researchers Kazumi Ozaki, from Toho University in Japan and Chris Reinhard, from the Georgia Institute of Technology, it seems that even if humans pollute the earth to death, the sun The face of the star.

In case you were wondering, all of this is likely to happen in about a billion years.

The two researchers created a model of the Earth's climate, biology and geology to see how the processes of our solar system change it.

In fact, even the animals that will be left on the planet alone after a nuclear holocaust have an expiration date after which there will be no life as we know it.

The reason for the disappearance of oxygen and life from Earth is related to the warming process of the sun which is expected to be significantly warmer another billion years, and then actually dry up the Earth until it becomes an empty shell.

The researchers note that even until 2.4 billion years ago the earth was depleted of oxygen, then a bacterium developed in the sea that knew how to break down carbon dioxide into carbon and oxygen and thus enabled the process needed to create life on Earth.

However, stars of the Sun type become hotter as they age, so that in about a billion years the sun will reach a heat level that will prevent all the carbon dioxide molecules on Earth and plants will no longer be able to grow as the process of photosynthesis stops.

At this point, according to the forecast they published in the prestigious journal Nature Geoscience, oxygen may drop within 10,000 years to such a low level of one in a million relative to the amount of oxygen today.

Such a reality, of course, would not allow for life as we know it at all.

Another problem (as if that is not enough) is that in the absence of oxygen the layer of ozone that surrounds the earth, and blocks between 95% and 99% of the ultraviolet radiation that reaches the ground, will decompose.

This is a key element in our lives, as it is this layer that allowed animals to emerge from the ocean to the surface of the earth and begin the evolution of life on land.
