In the era of deepfakes, the technique that allows one face to be exchanged for another in a video, more and more applications and platforms are emerging that make it possible even to sing selfies.
This is how Wombo.AI is presented, the new Internet sensation that follows the line of the popular
FaceApp
or
DeepNostalgia
.
This free application, which is available for Android or iPhone, uses Artificial Intelligence to animate a photo and transform it into a video, making the person portray sing, move, and their mouth follow the audio.
The operation of Wombo.AI is very simple.
Like any application, it must first be downloaded safely from Google Play or Play Store, even if APK versions appear on various pages.
Then, the user must choose the image they want to animate: they can take a selfie on the spot or use another from the gallery.
The best part comes in selecting the song that the photo will "sing" to.
There are 15 tracks available, including Michael Jackson's Thriller, Haddaway's What is Love, Rick Astlye's Never Gonna Give You Up;
Once the selection is made, you just have to wait for the platform to generate the animation.
You have to be patient, as it may take a few minutes.
Likewise, the application also has a premium version, which accelerates the generation of the video and eliminates advertisements.
When Artificial Intelligence has done its part of the process, the video can be downloaded to the phone or shared on social networks.
Although Wombo.AI surprises and generates a furor -especially on Twitter-, the videos lack development;
Above all, it is difficult for him to simulate the background, and shows the odd problem with the images that have women as protagonists.
