Kia Sorrento 2021 (Manufacturer)
Talkar, Kia's importer to Israel, has started marketing the new Sorrento.
The Sorento has come a long way since it first arrived in Israel in the early 2000s as a real SUV up to the model you see in front of you.
The new and fourth generation in number sits on Hyundai and Kia's N3 platform, which is also used by its Santa Fe counterpart, the Sonata and its equivalent from the new Kia K5 and the new Kia Carnival.
The platform is significant due to its flexibility to absorb new and necessary propulsion systems - hybrids and plug-ins.

Moderate growth in dimensions (Photo: Manufacturer's website, manufacturer)
When bounded by the tilleride above it, the sorento grows very moderately in its external dimensions.
481 cm in length (extra cm), width of 190 cm (here too, extra cm) and it is mainly the wheelbase that has grown significantly more to 282 cm (3.5 cm extra).
As in the previous generation, this time too it will offer seven seats, with another 4.5 cm added to the second-row seat rail to make it easier for people to sit in the back seats. When all the seats are in use, the trunk volume stands at 357 liters (320 previously).

The Kia Sorrento comes with four engines: petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid.
The 2.5-liter gasoline engine with an output of 180 hp and 23.7 kg, is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 10.1 seconds and top speed is 190 km / h.
The 2.2-liter diesel engine delivers 202 hp and 45 kg.
The gearbox here is dual-clutch and the acceleration to 100 km / h is 9 seconds. The top speed is 202 km / h.
The hybrid version combines a 1.6-liter turbo engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 230 hp and 35.7 kg.
The gearbox is planetary automatic with 6 gears and the acceleration times to 100 are 8.6 seconds and up to a maximum of 193 km / h.
The plug-in version is the most powerful on offer and the only one to offer dual propulsion. Here too the 1.6 turbo engine is combined with an electric motor, but more powerful Which, together with the gasoline engine, brings a combined output of 265 hp and 35.7 kg.
The acceleration to 100 km / h is shortened to 8.4 seconds and the top speed is 193 km / h.

In the petrol and diesel versions, the Sorento will reach the "Urban" finish level, which is the entry-level version, where it is equipped with a 10.25-inch multimedia screen with compatibility for Android and Apple, with built-in navigation, radio and parking apps, third-row and third-row air outlets.
The EX trim level matched to the hybrid version also offers a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and more.
The plug-in version will be the most equipped on offer and will include 3 charging sockets for the second row, peripheral camera, electric direction, ventilation and heating for the front seats with memories of the driver, curtains for the rear windows, panoramic window to the roof, electric trunk opening also through the leg, top view and more.
The advanced safety systems are here in full plus, automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, warning of a vehicle in a "dead zone" (including video projection on the dashboard in the plug-in), signage detection, correction of lane departure, automatic braking in reverse travel, braking in cross-traffic detection Rear and prevent opening doors in approaching vehicle identification.

Prices for the new Sorento start at NIS 235,000 for urban gasoline (an increase of about NIS 20,000), the price of the diesel version with the same level of finish will increase by NIS 245,000 (in the past, this version was offered with dual propulsion and at a more expensive price of NIS 30,000).
The hybrid version will cost NIS 260,000, while the powerful and well-equipped plug-in version will cost NIS 290,000.
Its entry-level prices certainly put it a little above the starting price threshold of valued vehicles like the Skoda Kodiak and Peugeot 5008, on the other hand the hybrid and plug-in versions feature plenty of instrumentation and an attractive price compared to that of the direct competitor - Hyundai Santa Fe which comes only with the diesel engine. 270 or 300 thousand shekels.
All models have a 3-year warranty with no mileage limit and the hybrid versions have a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty for the hybrid system.
