Users all over the world have reported that applications from Google, such as Google's email service - Gmail, are crashing because of a system component called Android System WebView, which allows web content to be displayed.
Google updates that it is handling the glitch.
The component crash caused other apps, based on the same component, to crash as they opened.
According to reports, apps from Amazon, Yahoo Mail, DuckDuckGo and more crashed despite system reboot or reinstallation of apps, despite Google's recent announcement that "the problem with Gmail has been resolved".
The company asked users to update the Android WebView and Google Chrome operating system through the app store, Google Play, to solve the problem for all users.
According to the guidelines published by Google for updating the Android WebView operating system, go to the Google app store (Google Play)> type in the search bar "WebView"> select the "Update" option.
Then repeat the steps for the Google Chrome app as well.
According to DownDetector, a service that monitors Internet outages, more than 1,000 Gmail outages have been reported.
Meanwhile companies like Samsung have advised its users to uninstall WebView to fix the problem temporarily.
