After having assisted Michel Fourniret for a long time in his obsessive and morbid quest for young girls, Monique Olivier has always claimed to have played only a secondary role in the Estelle Mouzin affair.
She admitted in November 2019 to having served as an alibi for her husband by simulating, from their home in the Belgian Ardennes, a phone call to the son of the serial killer.
It was these confessions that had put the investigators back on the Fourniret track.

She then gave more details on the kidnapping of the girl, assuring in August 2020 that Michel Fourniret had kidnapped Estelle Mouzin, before taking her to the house of the late sister of the killer, in Ville-sur-Lumes (Ardennes ).

Despite everything, according to corroborating sources, the killer's ex-wife would have mentioned the delivery of tools to her husband when the girl was kidnapped, probably in Ville-sur-Lumes.
She also said she had brought Michel Fourniret two tins of split peas, bought on January 11, 2003 in a supermarket in Villers-Semeuse, a few kilometers from Ville-sur-Lumes.

Indications "never given until now"
The excavations carried out last week in the Ardennes - the fourth since the confession of Michel Fourniret in March 2020 - did not, in any case, allow new progress.
Research is to continue on Tuesday.
According to Me Didier Seban, Monique Olivier would have, during her last hearing, given indications "that she had never given until now", and "directed the investigators to a place which will be searched in the coming days" .
After more than fifteen years of suspicion and lies, Michel Fourniret, indicted in November 2019 for “kidnapping and forcible confinement followed by death”, ended up confessing in March 2020 his responsibility in the case: “I recognize there a being which is no longer there by my fault, ”he declared to the judge.
He had also considered "relevant" the fact that the body of the girl could be in one of his former properties in the Ardennes.
In August 2020, Monique Olivier was in turn indicted for "complicity".
