Award-winning actress Helen Mirren, the Oscar winner for the film "The Queen" and one of the greatest actresses of our time, will play former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir in the new film by Israeli Oscar-winning director Guy Nativ.
The film mainly shows Golda - "the Israeli Iron Woman" - during the Yom Kippur War and the dramatic decisions she had to make in those days.
The production and screenplay are signed by Nicholas Martin, who became famous with the excellent screenplay for "Florence Foster Jenkins" starring Meryl Streep five years ago.
"As someone who was born during the Yom Kippur War, I feel a great honor to tell the fascinating story of the first and only woman who was the Prime Minister of Israel," said Guy Nativ.

Nativ's film joins another project about Golda Meir, which will be produced by the legendary actress and singer Barbara Streisand and will star Shira Haas.
The Israeli actress will play the former Israeli prime minister in a series called "Lavia" and will be based on a biography written by author Francis Klagsbrunn about Golda.
The book tells the story of Golda Meir as one of the central and most prominent leaders in the history of the State of Israel.
He goes back to her childhood in Kiev, Ukraine, her life in Milwaukee in the United States and the key roles she played on the way to the establishment of the State of Israel until her tenure as the first and only woman to head her government.
