This Wednesday, the trial for public insult which was to oppose the journalist Taha Bouhafs to the policewoman and trade unionist Linda Kebbab, whom he had qualified as "Arab of service" on social networks in 2020, was postponed to a later date in due to a procedural defect.
“In the context of the case which opposes me to Linda Kebab and the LICRA: today the court ruled that the procedure which has been brought to me was irregular and has just pronounced its annulment.

Absent at the hearing, Taha Bouhafs justified his absence by affirming that the summons to appear had not reached him.
The court acknowledged that the summons was invalid but the prosecution announced its intention to summon Taha Bouhafs again on June 9.
“The procedure is canceled.
To date, Mr. Bouhafs is no longer prosecuted, ”welcomed his lawyer, Me Arié Alimi, also absent from the hearing.

"The summons from the public prosecutor's office was canceled, but not the procedure, which is going very well and which the court will very quickly recover," retorted Ms. Kebbab's lawyer, Me Arnaud de Montbrial.
"It is apparently easier to make offensive tweets than to come and explain it to justice," he quipped.
The facts date back to June 2020, the day after a demonstration against police violence organized by relatives of Adama Traoré, this young man who died in 2016 after his arrest by the gendarmes.

Invited on LCI, Linda Kebbab, national delegate of the police union SGP-FO Unit, had affirmed that, while understanding "the anger and the suffering" of the family of Adama Traoré, her death had "absolutely nothing to do With that of George Floyd in the United States, suffocated to death after his arrest.
In a message posted on Twitter, Taha Bouhafs commented on the unionist's statements, qualifying her as "ADS: Arab service".
Even if he quickly deleted this tweet, Linda Kebbab had filed a complaint against him for public insult of a racist nature.
“I will be delighted to be able to explain in detail in court, the reasons which lead me to say that this woman is an ar * be of service.
Long live freedom of expression, ”Taha Bouhafs then replied.
Supported at the hearing by dozens of plainclothes police officers, the trade unionist regretted "the cowardice" of her opponent.
