The commercial vehicle market recorded a positive sign in March, thanks also to two more working days: with 18,230 units it marks a + 5.4% compared to March 2019, due to the unthinkable comparison with the same month of 2020 in full lockdown.

The first quarter, according to the estimates of the Unrae Study and Statistics Center, closes on the same levels as in 2019 with 46,140 registrations.

"The market remains in positive territory thanks to the contribution of government incentives - says Michele Crisci, president of Unrae, the association of foreign car manufacturers - and the fund for non-electric power supplies ran out within a few days, accelerating the process of replacing a fleet which, according to the latest UNRAE estimates, at the end of 2020, out of a total of 4,025,000 commercial vehicles in circulation, still had a share of 46% before Euro 4, therefore with more than 15 years of seniority. In light of the evident benefits deriving from the new low-emission vehicles, in terms of the environment, road safety and for the state coffers, Unrae urgently requests the refinancing of the fund for the purchase, against scrapping, of vehicles with power supply other than electricity (for which the allocated fund is still available). The allocation should allow coverage at least until the end of June, period already provided for by the Budget Law which introduced the incentives ".
