No arrests have taken place, for the moment, but this septuagenarian and his friends are probably left for the fear of their lives.
The Bordeaux prosecutor's office has also opened an investigation for "sequestration", "extortion" and "attempted extortion in an organized gang", as well as for "aggravated violence in an organized gang", announces France Bleu Gironde.
Friday, in the town of Lège-Cap-Ferret, in the Arcachon basin, a man saw several criminals enter his home, who did not hesitate to kidnap and tie him up, local radio reports this Sunday.
They were angry with one of his friends, in his seventies, convinced that he had large quantities of narcotics.
They thought, reveals Sud Ouest, that the retiree was in possession of cocaine, as well as a substantial sum of money, which he would have recovered during the sale of quantities of drugs found on the coast, in 2019, when small packages containing narcotics washed up on the shores of the Atlantic.
Forcibly locked in the trunk of a car
The thugs therefore make sure to attract the septuagenarian to his friend's home.
As reported on the radio, he does not suspect anything, and indeed goes to his friend's house, in the company of a loved one.
There, he faces the ill-intentioned group, who intimidates him to reveal the location of the drugs.
The man proclaims it loud and clear, he does not have any narcotics at home.
France Bleu specifies that it is also not known to the police or justice for any facts related to the use or possession of drugs.
The thugs do not hesitate to hit the septuagenarian and persist in calling his wife, who does not deign to answer their calls, before pushing him into the trunk of their car.
The man finally manages to escape when his attackers decide to abandon their car and disappear into the wild.
Wounded, he managed to return to the friend from whom the criminals kidnapped him, before calling the emergency services. His attackers, however, could not be arrested by the gendarmes of the Arcachon Research Brigade, responsible for the investigations and to date, no trace of drugs has been found at his home, reports Sud Ouest.
