It is an investigation for intentional homicide by spouse which was opened in Nice after the suspicious death of a Niçoise in the Seychelles.
Her companion, from Nice too, is suspected of having killed her, we learned this Saturday from the Nice prosecutor.
"We were seized on May 7 of these facts by the Paris prosecutor's office, itself informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and we seized on May 12 the judicial police of Nice," said prosecutor Xavier Bonhomme.
The magistrate indicates that the local judicial authorities consider this death as "highly suspect".
The 32-year-old woman, manager of an event venue in Nice, was found on April 27 hanged on the towel hanger in the bathroom of their hotel room by her 35-year-old companion, a street -artist also established in Nice.
The couple had been staying at the local Club Med for a few days.
The companion denies any involvement
According to Nice-Matin, who returns on Saturday to this information revealed by the local press, the autopsy report carried out on the spot would establish that the death was not due to a hanging but to a strangulation, suggesting a murder disguised as suicide.
The daily indicates that the companion, who denies any involvement, must stand trial on June 8 before the Supreme Court of Seychelles.
He has been in prison since May 5.
The couple was traveling to the Seychelles at the invitation, again according to Nice-Matin, of the local management of Club Med, the artist from Nice having to paint frescoes on the walls of the establishment. This hotel, the first Club Med establishment in the Seychelles, is located on Île Sainte-Anne and was inaugurated on May 25.
