Sporty and compact crossover, the new Opel Mokka is placed in the B-suv segment, thanks to its small size: its 4.15 meters in length "mean" just 9 cm more than the Corsa subcompact and 12 less than the Mokka X , production discontinued at the end of 2019.

With the latter it shares only the name, with the exception of the "X": otherwise the new Mokka has been deeply renewed in style and design.

Based on the EMP1 platform, Mokka is 10 cm lower than the Crossland and has a much sportier style.

This is possible thanks to a massive presence on the road and a front recognizable at first glance: the “Vizor”, integrates grille and headlights;

the high and almost horizontal bonnet (you can have it in a contrasting black color for 300 euros) is characterized by the two oblique cuts in the bumper, which not only have a decorative function but are also useful as air intakes to unload inside of the wheel arches, so as to "clean up" the flow that runs along the side and improve the aerodynamics of this SUV.

The version being tested for ANSA Motori, the GS Line Pack, comes with 18 ”wheels as standard, a characterizing element of the side silhouette.

The headlights, also Led, have a horizontal development and accentuate the feeling of a large car well "planted on the ground".

The passenger compartment follows the philosophy of 'less is more' by providing for the interior an essential and clean design, where nothing is really missing.

The “pure panel” boasts a console oriented towards the driver and the two screens of the dashboard and the multimedia system side by side and enclosed by a frame, which in the GS Line is red.

The two displays are 7 ", but with the Navi Pro 10 option (850 euros) the one in front of the driver becomes 12" (it is configurable, and has simple and clear graphics) and the other 10 ".

The trial version, on sale at a price of 27,950 euros, is equipped with a 130 horsepower 1.2 turbo petrol engine: thanks to the relatively low weight - we are talking about 1220 kg - this car responds quickly and precisely to acceleration.

The suv of the German house accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 9.2 seconds with a truly incisive sprint.

Driving is comfortable and rather lively, the steering is direct: the engine is always ready and silent, with the eight-speed automatic gearbox making fluidity one of its main characteristics.

Average consumption during our test stood at 13 km with a liter, a little below the house's declared average of 16.9 km with a liter in the WLTP cycle.

In short, an SUV with an urban character that also lends itself with all serenity to out-of-town trips on early summer weekends.
