»The German government's corona warning app is celebrating its birthday.

It has been in operation for a year now and the application was not exactly a successful project from the start.

We now want to ask in Hamburg: What do people think of the app and do they still use it? "

"Do you know what's celebrating its first birthday this week?"

Passers-by in Hamburg:

"First birthday?"

"I have no idea."

"My nephew?"

"A Corona summer."

“Definitely the right direction.

The federal government's corona warning app. "

Passers-by in Hamburg

? "People ... Jo, and"

"Yes, yes, now that you mention it, I remember."

"Gosh, that I would not have thought of.

I do have it.

But I didn't know that they'd been around for so long. "

" Oh, look at the ones that we all loaded up and then thrown down again. "

"Is that the case with you?"

"Did you install it?"

Passers-by in Hamburg:

»No, not at the moment.

I had it, but not anymore. ”

“ I didn't want another app that tracks what I'm doing. ”

“ I've never used it. ”

“ Yes, I have it and I'll look it up too. ”

"Occasionally I have to be reminded, but I actually check it out almost every day."

"Did you install it?"

But that doesn't do much here in Hamburg. "

"Why not?"

"Because they all want the Luca app here."

"If you have to check in somewhere, in a restaurant or something, how do you do it?"

Passers-by in Hamburg:

"With the Luca app."

"Can you even use the Corona warning app for scanning and such?"

"In the meantime, yes."

Passers-by in Hamburg:

"So mostly via the Luca app."

"But also via the Corona warning app?"

Passers-by in Hamburg:

“That rarely happens.

Most actually work with the Luca app.

In other words, relatively exclusive. ”

“ I won't leave until everything is ready for me not to go through all this effort. ”

"Have you had a crazy experience or a risky contact?"

Passers-by in Hamburg:

The record was a year ago when I had, I think, twelve encounters, but without any high risk.

But that was a moment when I thought: Oh, now it's getting serious. "

" Then I heard something like this: someone lived at a bus stop and always had rashes.

I've heard things like that. "

“It was also a very expensive project.

One speaks of almost 70 million euros.

Do you think it was still important to do that.

And how useful is this app? "

Passers-by in Hamburg:

»I find them very useful.

I was glad I had something to hold on to a bit. ”

“ But I think that's too expensive, definitely. ”

“ I guess the money could certainly have been used more sensibly or differently with others Measures. ”

“ And now I would say in retrospect: Maybe it wasn't so necessary because this new app was also made and it wasn't used at all. ”

“ I think it could have been gotten cheaper, I think beautiful."

»The Corona app is now just a year old and has had to take so much, a lot of criticism.

What do you wish the app for its birthday? «

Passers-by in Hamburg:

"Yes, of course I wish her many users, no question."

"Perhaps I wish her to pick us up again somehow that we all quickly threw her out again."

"I want the app that it can become a constant companion in spite of the critics. Above all, now also as proof of vaccination. ”

“ That Corona is going away and that you no longer need such apps. That would be stupid for the app itself. ”

“ But I don't think it'll work anytime soon. We will definitely celebrate our second birthday. "
