Iggy Waxman, Winning Couple (Network 13)

If there is one thing that irritates Iggy Waxman (48) more than anything, it is the preoccupation with the age gap between her and her husband in the last decade, Ati Schulberg (36). "I'm totally tired of it. Enough. Rabak is already with it. After all, 90 percent of men go out with girls younger than them - and that's legitimate," Waxman says. "So when a girl goes out with someone young then it's always like 'wow, this is interesting.' But it happens. Maybe not talked about that much, but it's normal and it happens and it's just fine I chose a young guy. It's cool. I deserve it too."

And you still get comments on the street about it?

Iggy: "No, no, the truth is that not anymore. But they will always do an article in the news about age differences, they will always call us. Well enough, Rabak. Understand - I never arrived and I will never arrive."

But there were days when you must have received endless comments.

Iggy: "There were all kinds of girls who sometimes wrote 'Why are you going out with her? Go out with me, I'm a young drinker.'I'm also a young drinker. "

Tonight and tomorrow there will be two final parts of "VIP Winning Couple" (Network, 21:30) where in addition to Iggy Waxman and Ati Schulberg, Itzik and Laura and Adel and Match will also participate. Tonight will be broadcast the final assignment, and tomorrow - the announcement ceremony of the winners. "I did not believe we would reach the final," Iggy admits. "At first we came and said to ourselves 'the main thing is not to fly first'. Slowly we developed an appetite. I did not believe I would be able to meet all these tasks. "Dreams come true. And the truth was that it was just easy because we have excellent communication. When there were questions about our relationship - we knew everything because we have a good relationship. And the relationship tasks - it's all in the head anyway."

And what did you find out about yourself?

Iggy: "I'm insanely competitive and there's a situation where I'm quite fond of extremes, especially endurance tasks. I'll be hired can stand for hours without moving."

Ati: "Lie, you can not move."

Iggy: "Overall, I really enjoyed the tasks."

Ati: "I am fundamentally a patient and optimistic person. So what surprised me was that at some point Iggy was the driving force that lifted me up when I broke down. I did not think I would be in this place and did not think I would need Iggy to pick me up. And it did me real good because I released and she was there for me. "I thought I was invincible and in the end it became clear to me that I was also a human being. I also broke down."

Ati: "Routine is a crazy roller coaster. You suddenly feel like you need something to pull you out of that routine and shuffle the cards again."

In one of the last episodes there were many couples who attacked you. See that you were very hurt.

Iggy: "It's never nice to hear that people do not like you, what's more it comes from couples who came back to the game and sometimes even after a lot of time. With Tal and Roi, for example, we were not in a relationship for almost a year and suddenly they start saying unpleasant things about us. A very sensitive person. So I had a very hard time and it was too much for me. In this situation I thought to myself why did I even come to this game. Who are they to say these things about me? They are not my friends, not my acquaintances, it was just painful and unpleasant ".

Ati: "Obviously this was a level to be discounted. It was a manipulation to make us angry. It's not fun to be the one to shoot half a poison. With each of the couples we have a relationship of a certain kind so every couple who stabs you - it's much more than this stabbing, because "There is a history between us. Even though you know it's nonsense in piles, in the end you're human and it hurts you."

Which couple were you most hurt by?

Ati: "Manny and Perla, even though today we are their friends."

Iggy: "They had to choose from three pairs. Each one wrote what suited him at that moment."

Ati: "It was clear who they would choose. It was a manipulation. For me, they did the damage to us, so why stab again?"

Iggy, I understand you had a very hard time convincing yourself to get to the show.

Iggy: "We did not want to go to the show. For years we got a lot of offers from reality shows. When we got the offer from 'VIP Winning Couple', it was so absurd that for eight years I raised children and did not leave the house. It was so weird to go out for filming because it's "It was a vacation without the kids for the first time. Beyond that, a year later we can say that this is what made us the best in life. I learned to let go there. From a state of not leaving the kids for one day we got to a state of traveling for two months."

Ati: "This situation took so much delicacy out of Iggy, it amazed me. I knew that was what would happen and I was so glad it happened. It was just worth it all."

At one point, you told Match in one of the episodes that you had a not-so-good time before the show.

What happened?

Ati: "A couple married for ten years with two children, with all that that entails. Routine is a crazy roller coaster. You suddenly feel you need something to pull you out of that routine and shuffle the cards again. This show gave us a shared adventure that took us both out what not for a long time. Was there".

Ati: "With how much she has a short thread and that she's impulsive, Iggy's other side is that she's the most loyal and good friend. Her heart is out."

Who did you stay in touch with from the couples?

Ati: "With Itzik and Laura, Perla and Manny and Aviva and Yechiel."

Iggy: "I talk to Aviva every day. I love her. Yechiel came to install my dishwasher this week sometime."

If I told you a year or two ago that you would soon become soul mates of Oren Hazan's parents, what would you say?

Ati (laughs): "I think it proves how stereotypes that are in your head change when you meet people."

Iggy: "I have fun with them, they're funny and I really like them."

Atti, what happened to your relationship with Match? You were good friends inside the house.

Ati: "At home it was real. Match is really a very sensitive person, he is also a man who grew up on the knees of patriarchy and machoism and had a hard time expressing emotion. In the conversations we had I saw him crying. But we are very different in manner and lifestyle so we do not get out get together".

What is the role of each of you in the relationship?

Iggy: "Ati is the responsible adult, responsible for the food and a perfect father. I am another girl at home and responsible for a good mood, feeding cats and laundry."

Ati: "Iggy is also the diary and is in charge of the schedules. She's the head of logistics. "

Iggy:" Yes, but you're the chief of staff.

Ati: "It does not work out that you are the commander and I am the chief of staff. After all, the chief of staff is the commander. "

Iggy: "Right."

Ati: "I am calm and reassuring and Iggy is the fire that needs to be directed."

There was a touching moment in the show that you defended and explained to the couples that Iggy has a short thread but needs to get to know her to get to know her sensitivity.

Ati: "With how much she has a short thread and who is impulsive, Iggy's other side is that she's the most loyal and good friend. Her heart is out. She hurts fast, forgives fast, is an unstoppable force for better or worse."

I guess there were times you couldn’t handle it the way you deal with it today.

Ati: "Sure. It would have caused us a lot of quarrels. I am the complete opposite - striving for harmony and quiet. Until we mediated this gap, it took time. Today I know how to watch a storm before it arrives and I know it has a quick end. It also knows not to be dragged For certain things and burn down the club. "

good friends.

Iggy: "I feel like I was in the best time and did the greatest I could. I was Singer of the Year, I performed a lot, I got my recognition. I can die quietly."

26 years ago Iggy Waxman released her first and excellent album "Red" which turned the country around and released huge hits like "I Have Nothing to Tell You", and "Marry Me". The album was produced by musician Hemi Rodner, who was her husband for four years until 1999. In 1997 she released her second album "No More Waiting for the Mail" which also included some big hits, led by "No More Waiting for the Mail" and "On the Way to Milwaukee". She met Ati Schulberg in 2012 after participating in the "Big Brother" program. In that year their eldest daughter was born and a year later they had another son.

Iggy, what about new songs?

Iggy: "I'm working on a few songs at the same time and I'll be releasing them soon."

Doesn't it suck that people want you to sing only those old songs?

"It's the album that defines me and I really like his songs. Since then I've released 5 more albums but people always want me to sing the songs from this album. It doesn't suck me because even though I'm going to see Nick Cave, I want to hear the hits. Music is nostalgia." .

Don't you have the frustration of not being able to replicate that success?

"No, I feel like I was in the best time and did the greatest I could. I was the singer of the year, I performed a lot, I got my recognition. I can die quietly. That's exactly why I'm not stressed. I make music I think is good. I'm not in competition. with no one".

What music do you like to hear?

"Neta Barzilai is cool, Noga Erez is stunning, and of course my father-in-law Rodner, Yahli Sobol, etc. Abroad, I love Doa Lipa and DeWeekend. But at home we hear 88FM and my kids even know who Nick Cave is. "

How is your relationship with Hemi Rodner?

"Excellent. He's a good friend. 30 years have passed anyway. We meet for coffee sometimes, talk on the phone, are very respectful of each other."

Time, you started at Big Brother. Now you're in a winning pair. It looks like you're attracted to the entertainment industry.

Ati: "I have always been terribly dual about these worlds. On the one hand I am not an extreme person. I am an introverted and shy person. On the other hand, if I did not like the worlds of television and entertainment, I probably would not have approached them at all. I have a flirtation with the stage world. I like to perform, play, sing and have fun and nonsense. I have no problem exposing myself and being photographed. In the decade since Big Brother I have changed a lot. I am much more mature and sober today. In Big Brother I was very tough. I felt attacked many times, I developed anxieties and now I felt it "The right time for another reality show. Both in terms of career, both in terms of relationships and in terms of money. As for the future, I do not rule out anything. If there is something that comes in handy and I connect with it, I will not rule anything out."

Is there anything that particularly appeals to you?

"There are point things I like and I'm good at. First thing, dubbing movies. I'm really addicted to it. Second thing, prompting can sit me really well."

Do you regret going to Big Brother?

"No. Absolutely not. I do not regret anything. Big Brother is another formative experience in the journey of life. By the way, if not for Big Brother - I probably would not have known Iggy. With all the difficulty I had, I learned a lot about myself. It gave me a perspective on myself".

What is the main thing you will take from "VIP Winning Couple"?

Iggy: "It was a crazy, empowering and empowering experience. For me we are a winning couple because at home we are a winning couple. That's the most important thing. We have fun at home. I'm really glad we did it."

Ati: "We got a lot as a couple. Chakras were opened that were dormant. I discovered other strengths in Iggy and everything is more appreciated now."
