The car manufacturer from Gydon has in fact decided to celebrate the centenary of its A3, creating a tribute in a modern way and based on one of its production sports cars such as the new Vantage Roadster.

It's been 100 years since chassis number 3, now commonly known as the A3, rolled out of the brand's then manufacturing facility on Abingdon Road in Kensington, London.

The third of five Aston Martin prototypes built before mass production began, the car was used extensively by company co-founder Lionel Martin. Equipped with a 1.5-liter, 11-hp four-cylinder side-valve engine, the A3 was often seen with an aerodynamic racing body and in its heyday it set several speed records, including the first placed at the Essex Motor Club Kop Hill Climb in 1922, as well as cruising the famous Brooklands circuit at 84.5 miles per hour in 1923. One hundred years after its construction, the A3 is also a piece of the Aston Martin Heritage Trust collection , which acquired it at an auction in 2002. After its acquisition by the Trust,A3 has been restored to be as close as possible to its original factory version.

To commemorate the historic car's milestone milestone, Aston Martin asked its Q by Aston Martin division, dedicated to special projects, to replicate the spirit of the A3 in the new Vantage Roadster. This car was first shown publicly last weekend at an A3 centennial celebration event organized by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust, with support from the Aston Martin Owners' Club.

At the Dallas Burston Polo Club, Southam, Warwickshire, a series of extremely rare and prestigious Aston Martin models have been showcased as part of a chronological journey through Aston Martin's history. Among the many on display were pre-war Aston Martin models, pre-war Lagonda vehicles, DB2s, Newport Pagnell six-cylinder cars such as DB4, DB5, DB6 and DBS and many other historic models, in addition to the current range of the Gydon house. The A3 Vantage Roadster is strictly produced in a limited edition of three.
