A sealed video game cassette of the Nintendo classic "The Legend of Zelda" has been auctioned for a record sum of 870,000 dollars (732,000 euros).
The video game was the "heart" of an auction of a total of 443 objects, said the spokesman for the Dallas-based auction house Heritage Auctions, Eric Bradley, on Friday (local time) the AFP news agency.
He did not provide any information about the buyer of the video game cassette.

The auctioned video game cassette is still in its original packaging from 1987. With an auction price of 870,000 dollars, the "Zelda" video cassette trumped the previous world record holder, a cassette with the video game "Super Mario", the auction house said.
The 1986 Super Mario cassette had changed hands at an auction in April for $ 660,000.
