A young 23-year-old man, of Roma origins and resident in the Venetian area, was reported for fraud by the Carabinieri of the Campoformido station of the Compagnia di Udine. He had managed to get 85,000 euros to be delivered in several tranches, by a 74-year-old retiree from Friuli, residing in the Udine hinterland, for the purchase of a large-capacity car never delivered.

The young man had put the car up for sale on a specialized website, convincing the victim to pay him the agreed amount with several bank transfers for the sale of the car. Not having received the paid car, the old man filed a complaint with the carabinieri who, with an investigation conducted by analyzing the bank flow of the money paid, traced back to the perpetrator of the scam.
