The emergency services could not do anything.
Shortly before 9 p.m., firefighters and Samu were called to help a 9-month-old baby at his home in Ladon, in Loiret, near Montargis, according to France Bleu.
"The child was helicoptered to the Tours University Hospital, due to his particularly serious condition," said the Montargis prosecutor's office in a press release.
The emergency services had previously provided him with care for almost 1 hour 30 minutes. The infant died at the hospital at around 12:30 am.
The child presented "worrying physical signs"
The Public Prosecutor of Montargis ordered an autopsy to shed light on the causes of death.
Indeed, according to France 3 Center-Val-de-Loire, his mother and his stepfather are suspected of having had violent behavior towards the child.
When help arrived, the infant presented "worrying physical signs".
An investigation of flagrance was opened by the Public Prosecutor's Office for
"
violence resulting in the death without intention of giving it on a minor of 15 years by an ascendant or a person having authority over the victim".
It was then entrusted to the gendarmes of the Montargis search brigade.

Their custody continued with a view to opening a judicial investigation. An examining magistrate will then take charge of the investigation at the criminal center of Orleans. If the facts are proven, they face up to 30 years of criminal imprisonment.
